Rich (Sruly) Kahan was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He attended Touro College, where he took courses in Business Management and Administration. Prior to starting his career as an originator, Rich was a private school administrator, a commercial real estate owner, and a commercial real estate developer.
He has 20 years in the mortgage industry, he started off as an originator. He then later became a sales manager of a mortgage bank in New York that was eventually bought out by a national company. Rich is extremely knowledgeable in credit and mortgage product. He prides himself in trying to understand more than the necessary information for an originator by staying on top of underwriting guidelines. This helps him best guide his clients to the right product available to them. Honesty and patience are key values for Rich as it eases the stressful process and allows him to find the best fit for his borrowers. He tries to be as accessible as possible to borrowers, even after standard business hours to accommodate any need or questions regarding the loan process.
Rich currently resides in Florida with his wonderful wife and 5 children who mean the world to him. Outside of work, he enjoys family dinners and being able to go out and take his kids anywhere they will have fun; it’s what he lives for! He strives to give back to the community. While in New York, he was involved with at risk teenagers, which he has continued in Florida. He also volunteers weekly at a food bank in Florida, which delivers food boxes to families in need. One of Rich’s favorite ways to relax and have fun is by boating!
