Dick Downs graduated from Cornell University with a master’s degree. After obtaining his degree, Dick began his extensive career in financial services. While living in New York City and Upstate New York, he spent several years as a controller and entrepreneur in the hospitality industry. He continued to build his career as a loan officer assisting home buyers with several different loan programs. He then transitioned into financial planning for several years and for the past fourteen years he has been successful in advising home owners and buyers on the Home Equity Conversion Mortgage product.
With over fourteen years of Reverse Mortgage lending experience, Dick has the knowledge and expertise to help each borrower structure the optimal Reverse Mortgage to achieve their financial goals. He prides himself on taking the necessary time needed to understand his customers’ immediate and long-term goals and finding the best financial solution to achieve their objectives. Having helped several hundred clients navigate the Reverse Mortgage process, he understands how confusing the process can be and he works hard to walk each client through the process in an organized and efficient manner. Dick resides in Syracuse, New York with his wife of thirty-two years. He has two sons, one is a doctor and the other is a veterinarian student at Cornell. He enjoys upstate New York with its four seasons. He is an avid skier, both downhill and cross-country. He also enjoys golfing and of course, the foliage.
