Brett grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, and came north to Amherst College in Massachusetts, where he graduated Cum Laude and almost completely lost his southern accent.  He discovered the joys and challenges of home ownership with the purchase of a historic first-period (pre-1725) home, when mortgage rates were in the double digits.  He quickly learned that there is more to the mortgage market than a vanilla 30-year fixed rate loan (he used a 3-2-1 buydown for the purchase) and felt a drive to keep working in this industry!

Brett joined a mortgage company in 1993 and discovered reverse mortgages in 2001, and his first client was the retiring chief of police who wanted to eliminate his mortgage payments and establish a growing HECM line of credit. Brett is also a member of the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association. He joined after attending an organizational meeting and for over 20 years has been active as conference speaker, legislative advocate at the state and national levels, continuing education (CE) instructor, and chair of the independent certification committee for the industry designation: Certified Reverse Mortgage Professional (CRMP). Brett has an incredible amount of knowledge and experience that allows him to find success each and every day in his role. He genuinely looks forward to helping his clients here at TFSB find financial success!

Brett is an avid birder, earnest gardener, devoted choir member, and licensed realtor (inactive), motion picture operator (inactive), pyrotechnician (inactive), and life member of the Society of American Magicians (inactive).
