Alex McKinley started her career in mortgage financing in 2002. She has also been a small business owner in Fort Collins, Colorado since 2010. Aside from her passion for helping families reach their dreams of homeownership, she owns an equine practice where she is a farrier specializing in nutrition and rehabilitation of the equine hoof using alternative therapies. She studied biochemistry at Colorado State University. She has been an integral and resourceful part of the community, serving her clients through all stages of life as a trusted and knowledgeable professional that understands her customers’ ever changing financial needs. She has served in the Loveland Community Kitchen and Realities for Children with her daughters where she has gained a passion to help families and educate the community in homeownership. Being a business owner, has given her a firsthand understanding of the unique needs of applying as a self-employed borrower. Coming from a family deeply rooted in the Marines and Navy, she is committed to helping Veterans through their dreams of homeownership and is proud to be part of a Veteran owned bank.

Alex started her career at a large bank in the San Francisco Bay Area, and later in the smaller community of Vacaville, California. There she embraced a culture in forming real, client-based relationships that keep coming back to as a trusted resource for years. She is also a construction loan specialist and can help families build their dream homes, from lot acquisition to completion of their home. Her clients become her friends for life. No matter if it’s a first-time homebuyer, a client buying a luxury home, or a senior citizen looking to downsize into a retirement home, Alex is committed to guide her clients with education and knowledge of the large array of current products available.

Alex and her husband Jason’s little family consists of Alex’s two amazing and talented girls, Isabella and Sofia, and Logan whose big smile and adventurous spirit charms everyone. Her family also includes Arabian horses, a burro named Barney, 2 dogs, and 4 farm cats. They enjoy camping, fishing, cooking gourmet meals, and golfing. She also loves running ultras in the high mountains of Colorado. That is where she has completed several fifty-mile races and has ran in the Leadville 100! She has also raced her mare in fifty-mile endurance races. She loves her family time the most.
