Javier Ubarri has been President of The Federal Savings Bank since late 2011. He worked with the current ownership group to spearhead the efforts to acquire what was then known as Generations Bank. The transaction closed in April 2011. Since then, Javier has played an essential role to drive profitable results, leading to the building of a pipeline of residential mortgage loans for sale in the secondary market.
Javier is a results-oriented person, able to engage high performing teams to achieve clear business goals through strategic leadership.
Javier brings to the table over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector. He has excelled in numerous positions throughout his career. In 1992, Javier joined Banco Popular North America, a 116-year-old super community bank as part of the team that managed its expansion initiative in the United States. He participated in eight acquisitions throughout the US until he moved to Texas, a region that grew under his leadership as Regional President from a single location with $40 Million in assets, to one with 6 locations with $320 million in assets in the span of four years.
Javier obtained his BBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and his MBA from the University of Chicago. Earlier in his career, he worked for Price Waterhouse and passed the Certified Public Accountant examination. He is an advocate for community outreach and actively participates in various boards.
