After earning his BS in Accounting/Marketing, Michael Sobotka has filled his career with plenty of variety. In his previous careers, he has held the role of Director of Basketball Operations at the University of Buffalo men’s basketball program, followed by roles as a police officer with the Houston Police Department and the New York State Police. Then as entrepreneurship kicked in, Michael has since hired employees and grown teams in several businesses that he operates or manages. This includes a real estate agent sales team, rental properties, general construction firm, accounting firm, and COO of the Colson Law Group, an intellectual property-focused law firm.

Michael Sobotka also has a well-rounded real estate background. Having started in investing in real estate at the age of 20 in 2007, he comes with experience as a real estate salesperson, having sold over 225 properties from 2015-2021. As an investor, he has amassed a rental portfolio of over 80 apartments and office spaces. Michael now offers his services as a mortgage banker in all 50 states. He has a drive to not only offer the best financing options for your next purchase, but to look beyond that to structure financing for your best future, if it’s just one house or your next five. Michael clearly has the experience and knowledge to help anyone achieve their financial goals.

Michael is originally from Buffalo, NY, having also spent time in Texas & Florida. In his youth, he loved to stay active, and was a 6-sport varsity athlete, having gone to State twice in outdoor track and once in basketball. Current hobbies include his constant thirst for knowledge, museums, helping others accomplish their goals, coaching little league sports for his niece, investing, exploring nature, and board games. He also finds time to lead on the executive board of St. Mary’s High School in Lancaster, NY.
