Pete Mendenhall was halfway through his studies at North Carolina State University when he was presented with an opportunity to pursue a lifelong passion of building and opening restaurants. He pursed his passion, and went on to own, build, and assist in opening 15 restaurants. Pete later graduated from Johnson & Whales University. During his time in the restaurant industry, he was very successful and was an Award of Excellence Winner from Wine Spectator Magazine for 12 consecutive years. Continuing to pursue his life passions, Pete transitioned from the restaurant business to the real estate industry in 2000. Growing up in a real estate family, he was excited to help assist his clients with their transactions from investment properties, property management, asset protection, buying and selling notes as well as provide real estate education and training. By 2011, Pete segued into the mortgage space by focusing exclusively on Home Equity Conversion Mortgages (HECM). He has had a successful career as a top producer, national leader, national Sales Director, and Vice President. Pete has worked for two top national mortgage banks, two federal banks including growing one’s HECM Division from the ground up to the one of the top 18 in the country. He continues to build his career today as a trusted and reliable Mortgage Banker.

Throughout his career, Pete has learned the value in listening over speaking when it comes to assisting his clients. Understanding the information provided to him from his clients helps him aid his clients in making the right decisions for their longevity planning. Pete takes personal responsibility for helping all his clients understand their HECM mortgage. This foundation has helped him assist hundreds of client’s structure mortgages that optimized their personal situation to fulfill their financial goals. Pete’s unparalleled knowledge and emphasis on education helps his clients feel at ease as they work this him to pursue a HECM mortgage. He knows that the mortgage process isn’t an automated system, and works with every client to ensure they make the best decisions for themselves and their family.

Outside of work, Pete keeps active around the country and his local community with many groups.
