Kirby Atwell

Mortgage Banker

After graduating from West Point Military Academy in 2005, Kirby served as an officer in the US Army as a Platoon Leader, Executive Officer, Aide-de-Camp to a Brigadier General, and finally as a commander of a homeland defense radar site located in Northern Japan. During his time in the Army, he realized he had a knack for real estate. Kirby started his real estate career by purchasing rental properties in various markets throughout the US. After completing his military career in 2011, Kirby entered into real estate full time, and started his own investment company and realty brokerage all while earning his MBA in real estate from University of Illinois Chicago. Realizing his passion for working with veterans, in 2016, he founded Green Vet Homes, a company focused on providing quality sustainable rental housing to homeless military veterans.

Kirby’s desire to help others achieve their dream of home ownership led him to pursue a new career as a Mortgage Banker. His diverse background in all aspects of residential real estate gives him the unique skills to break down the, sometimes complicated, home buying experience into a simple step-by-step process. He uses his knowledge and expertise in the real estate market to help his clients find the best mortgage solution to meet their immediate and long term goals. Kirby’s problem solving skills, experience and commitment to customer service ensures his clients receive superior guidance as they pursue one of the most personal investments of their lifetime.

Kirby and his wife Taryn live just outside of Chicago in Frankfort, IL, not far from where they both grew up. In their free time, they spend lots of time with family and enjoy traveling whenever possible.
