Karen Horry

Mortgage Banker

Karen Horry has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and she graduated from North Carolina Wesleyan College. Karen began her journey in the real estate and mortgage industries back in 2002 in Queens Village, NY. She initially became a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson in New York and enjoyed working with various first-time homebuyers. After closely working with a Lender Partner on several real estate transactions, Karen was presented with the opportunity to join the Lender Partner’s Team as a Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant. Karen accepted the opportunity as she wanted to have hands-on knowledge of the mortgage loan approval process. While Karen worked as a Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant, she expanded her brand, mortgage expertise and client base. Karen’s focus was education for her clients, and she hosted various home buying seminars in her area alongside her team. Shortly afterwards, Karen became a Mortgage Loan Officer and was known to be the go-to person for buyers in her area.

In 2004, Karen relocated to the Raleigh-Durham area. An opportunity was presented to her to transfer to the Operations side of the mortgage process. With this new experience, Karen was able to learn the back-end world of mortgage. In North Carolina, Karen worked as a Mortgage Loan Closer, Appraisal Quality Reviewer and a Mortgage Accountant. After deciding to work directly with clients again, Karen shifted back to the sales side of mortgages in 2017. By this time, Karen was equipped to educate clients about various loan programs and guidelines to fit their needs, and able to set proper expectations for her clients upfront to outline the loan closing process.

She enjoys educating, advocating and facilitating the loan process on her client’s behalf. While Karen still permanently resides in the Raleigh-Durham area, she loves traveling to different places to meet people and to build relationships. Karen has a passion for assisting her clients with not only understanding the entire home loan process, but also helping with their individual home loan needs. She enjoys working with all kinds of clients whether it’s first-time buyers, second home owners, investors, owners who wish to refinance, new construction clients, etc. Karen is married with one son. Outside of a typical career day, Karen enjoys spending time with her family.
