Chicago Mortgage Operations Trainer

The Federal Savings Bank is looking for a professional Corporate Trainer to ensure the smooth and effective functioning of training events and special projects as well as a successful transition of new employees. The position will be based out of Chicago, but some travel should be anticipated. The Trainer will assist in designing curriculum and facilitating both large or small scale training classes on mortgage operations and mortgage lending.
  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of training programs (outsourced or in-house)
  • Conduct appropriate training methods per case (simulations, mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes and case studies.)
  • Market available training opportunities to employees and provide necessary information
  • Perform region-wide needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
  • Encompass software training
  • Use accepted, internal education principles and track new training methods and techniques
  • Design and prepare educational aids and materials
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on employee skills and how it affects process flow
  • Partner with National Director of Training as subject matter expert regarding instructional design
  • Assist in maintain updated curriculum database and training records
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment

Job Requirements


  • 4 year college degree or commensurate mortgage or military experience
  • BS/A degree in Education, Training, HR or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience as a high volume mortgage processor
  • 1-2 years in Loan origination preferred
  • 1-2 years of Training experience preferred
  • Should have prior operational experience working with direct lenders and secondary investors
  • Must have strong knowledge of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA & USDA lending
  • Encompass software experience required
  • Extensive knowledge of Mortgage Sales and Operations
  • Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools
  • Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods and techniques
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office, Power Point and Prezi
  • Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Strong communication skills coupled with an outgoing, congenial personality
  • Comfortable presenting via Webinar, video conferencing and live audiences
