Chicago Business Analyst

The Federal Savings Bank Business Analyst’s primary function is to assist the Operations Project Manager and to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business, financial, personnel, and operations systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. The Business Analyst is responsible for configuring and testing business systems to implement new features and functions, correct problems and issues, and enhance current operations. The Business Analyst is also responsible for generating and compiling reports in order to answer analytical questions as posed by the executive management team, the Operations Project Manager or other individuals as required. This individual will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the benefit of system and process investments throughout the enterprise. This position will be based out of our Chicago, IL headquarters office located in the West Loop neighborhood.
  

Essential Functions

  • Support and assist the Operations Project Manager as required.
  • Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of TFSB’s internal data structures.
  • Analyze multidimensional data using a variety of statistical and graphical tools to provide cogent and concise information for leadership.
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and identify and resolve systems issues.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, configuration, development, testing, and deployment of new features, functions, modules, applications, and enhancements.

Secondary Functions:

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Assist in the administration of the Encompass loan operating system.

Knowledge and abilities


Knowledge of:
  • PC operating systems and standard desktop applications.
  • Importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flow charts.
  • Basic relational database functionality (Excel, etc)
  • Basic computer programming concepts
    • Advanced knowledge not required, training for all relevant systems will be provided
  • Basic data analysis concepts.
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Ability to:
  • Work autonomously, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Employ standard project management approach to accomplishment of assigned tasks.
  • Communicate the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Conduct research into system issues and products as required.
  • Communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Train users in the use of business systems and new and/or changed business processes.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Preferred Experience:
  • 2 - 3 years advanced Excel usage
  • 1 - 2 years Encompass 360 loan origination system
  • 1 year mortgage processing, origination or other industry role
  • 1 year Visual Basic .NET programming
  • 1 year SQL programming
  • 1 year in related field

Required Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized educational institution
    • Information Technology and or Computer Science degree preferred, not required.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteWorking knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
  • Ability to take directives and execute tasks efficiently
  • Keen interest in data reporting and analysis
